Obituary

Freddie Lee Whittaker of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Thursday, December 5, 2024, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born on December 12, 1947, in Fort Smith to the late Leroy Whittaker and Alice (Weixelbaum) Whittaker. He was almost 77 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roy Dean Whittaker.

Freddie was a retired relief manager at Bost Human Development Center in Fort Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7th at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, with Bro. Charles Scott officiating. Funeral services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Jane (Posey) Whittaker; a daughter, Barbara Martin and husband Keith of Prairie Grove; a son, Kevin Whittaker and wife Bertha of Fort Smith; a sister, Janice Scott and husband Charles of Bixby, Oklahoma; a brother, Bobby Whittaker of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Amanda Grube and husband John, Matthew Belk and wife Courtney, Hailey Taylor and husband Clay, and Logan Whittaker; five great-grandchildren, Camdyn, Ella, Maci, Brighton, and Brielle, and one more on the way.

Pallbearers will be family members.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 6th at the funeral home in Charleston.
