Obituary

Floyd S. Roper, who resided in Paris, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at North Logan Mercy Hospital in Paris. He was born February 23, 1926 in Logan County near Scranton to the late George W. Roper and Amanda (Wade) Roper. He was 86 years old.

Floyd was a retired sawer for Michigan-California Lumber Company in Camino, California. He was a Boy Scout leader and volunteer fireman in Camino. Floyd was an avid fisherman and hunter and was of the Methodist faith.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 29th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with Rev. Mike Smith and Rev. Don Eubanks officiating. Burial will be at McKendree Cemetery, north of Subiaco, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth; two daughters, Peggy Beth Roper of Tucson, Arizona and Nancy Jean Miller and husband David of Sarasota, Florida; one son, Douglas Roper and wife JoAnn of Paris; one sister, Jicie Johnson of San Diego, California; three brothers, Roger Roper and wife Ann of Westwood, California, Jim Roper and wife Marian of Tucson, Arizona, and H.W. Roper of Heber Springs, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Christy Hagn of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Tracy Awana of Tucson, Arizona; one step-grandson, Kenny Williamson of Sacramento, California; three great-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild; one great-great grandchild.

Honorary pallbearers will be his son, Doug Roper, and his three brothers, Roger, Jimmy, & Hoyle Roper.
