Florine Hewett, who resided in the Coles Chapel Community, south of Branch, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Greenhurst Nursing Home in Charleston. She was born May 17, 1921 in Franklin County to the late James Charles Hammond and Alma Nettie (Pope) Hammond. She was 90 years old.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mac Harrison Hewett; two brothers, Haroldine and Bobby Hammond and one great grandson, Ryder Hewett.
Florine retired from Ace Comb Company in Booneville, and was a member of the Coles Chapel Methodist Church.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20th at the Coles Chapel Methodist Church, with Rev. Jim Brooks officiating. Burial will be at Coles Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Skeets and husband Larry of Branch; one son, Jack Hewett of the Coles Chapel Community; four grandsons, Mac Skeets, Jack, Todd, and Lane Hewett; one granddaughter, Callie Hewett; four great grandchildren, Tyler and Slade Skeets, and Ashton and Stella Grace Hewett.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Mac and Tyler Skeets, Jack, Todd, Lane, and Callie Hewett.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Coles Chapel Adult Sunday School Class.
Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
