Federico Zavala, who resided in Poteau, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Crawford Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Van Buren, Arkansas. He was born on September 10, 1944, in Laredo, Texas, to the late Alfredo Zavala and Nazaria (Gutierrez) Zavala. He was 78 years old. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alex Zavala and Joe Zavala; and a step-son, Rick Entmeier.

Federico was a homebuilder and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Velma (Jones) Zavala; his children, Debbie Misner, Aimee Watson, Tim Zavala, and Niko Zavala; a step-daughter, Kristie Entmeier; four sisters, Lucy, Sarah, Linda, and Lydia; a brother, Terry; (10) grandchildren and (4) great-grandchildren; (4) step-grandchildren and (4) step-great-grandchildren.
