Obituary

Everett Ray Brashears, who resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. He was born on November 30, 1944, in Paris, Arkansas, to the late Clarence E. Brashears and Margaret A. (Rofkahr) Brashears. He was 77 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (VanCleave) Brashears; two sisters, Dorothy Sorrels and Edna Posey; and a special cat, Mr. Fred.

Everett was a retired maintenance mechanic for Tyson Foods, Inc. in Bloomer and he served in the National Guard.

He is survived by his children, Debbie Roberds of Sabinal, Texas, Judy Brashears of Lavaca, and Denny Brashears and wife Christi of Fort Smith; a brother, Donald Brashears and wife Fran of Alma; four grandchildren, Heather Roberds, Amber Moore, Jacklyn Roberds, and Jennifer Roberds; several great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
