Obituary

Ethel Mae Sandberg, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, formerly of Redlands, California, died Friday, November 20, 2020, at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was born June 14, 1927, in Amagon, Arkansas, to the late John W. Adams and Annie Mae Henderson Adams. She was 93 years old. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, George W. Alvis and Jacob R. Sandberg; her two sons, George Alvis, Jr. and David Lee Alvis; a daughter, Rita Karen Alvis; and a granddaughter, Cherial Gonzales.

Ethel was a homemaker, a school bus driver for 22 years, a personal caregiver, and she was of the Pentecostal faith.

Graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, November 23rd, at Mayberry Cemetery in Central City, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Mike Jones.

She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Burton and husband Gary of Portland, North Dakota, and Judy McCombs and husband Jim of Clayton, North Carolina; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
