Obituary

Ethel Fay Martin, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019, in Fort Smith. She was born April 11, 1934, in Pine Bluff, to the late Richard Martin Bohannan and Arrie Lee McEntire Bohannan. She was 84 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Jim Martin; four sisters, twin sister Edie Hyde, Carrie Bohannan, JoAnn Blaylock, and Shirley Minichiello; a brother, R.M. Bohannan, Jr.; one grandson, Damen Martin.

Ethel was a retired hairdresser. She was owner and operator of Martinette Beauty Salon in Charleston. Ethel was a 1953 graduate of Watson Chapel High School. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church Choir, Sacred Heart Church Domino's Club, Mother's Society, and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston.

Funeral mass will be at 9:00 a.m. Monday, January 14th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Officiating the service will be Father Patrick Watikha, AJ and Deacon Mark Verkamp.

She is survived by her children, Autumn Ramsey and husband Mike and Drew Martin, all of Charleston; one sister, Mary Nell Smith and husband Jim of Las Vegas; one brother, Charles Bohannan and wife Mary of Charleston; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Justin Martin, Mike Ramsey, Greg Bohannan, David Shelby, Tony Lucius, and Jim Sargent.

The family will visit with friends starting at 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Renovation Fund @ P.O. Box 1087 Charleston, AR  72933.
