Obituary

Ethan Eldon Beason, who resided in Russellville, Arkansas, went home to be with his heavenly Father and family members who preceded him Saturday, May 9, 2015. The youngest of eight children, Ethan was born September 20, 1931 in Branch, Arkansas to the late Walter and Beulah (Francis) Beason. He was 83 years old. He was also preceded in death by his three sisters, Nina Swain, Veda Flynn, and Iva Matthews and two brothers, Leon Beason and Solan Beason.

He married the love of his life, Johnnie Gwendolyn Haney, July 10, 1951. He served in the U.S. Army for two years between 1952 to 1953. He was a masonry contractor and was owner and operator of Beason Masonry, Inc. from 1957 until he retired at the age of 80. He worked on numerous projects in Russellville and across the state. He was also a member of Second Baptist Church in Russellville, where he taught a Sunday school class for many years.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13th, at Second Baptist Church in Russellville. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Johnnie Beason; one daughter, Cathie Roach and husband Roger; two sons, Dan Beason and wife Janna and Tim Beason and wife Lynda, all of Russellville; two brothers, Everett Beason and Eugene Beason, both of California; (6) grandchildren and (14) great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robert Waldron, Nathan Bishop, Ray Wilkinson, Joey McLeland, Ted Edwards, and Bill Lawton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Max Haney, Corey Beason, Wesley Beason, and Heath Roach.

Public viewing will begin at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at Second Baptist Church in Russellville and also Wednesday morning until the funeral hour. Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at
Second Baptist Church in Russellville.
