Ercil Gertrude White, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Fort Smith. She was born December 22, 1924 in Greenwood, Arkansas to the late Jim Pigg and Beulah (Griffith) Pigg. She was 87 years old.
Ercil was a graduate of Greenwood High School. She was a caregiver for many years at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She spent her life serving and helping other people. She loved life, God, her family, and everyone she met. She spent her last years at Fianna Hills Nursing Home where her smile, laugh, and hats were very well known and will be remembered. She last attended First Assembly of God in Lavaca.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21st at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Rev. Don Hall officiating. Burial will be at Douglas Cemetery in Jenny Lind, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Stockton of Bentonville, Arkansas and Judy Chronister and husband Bill of Lavaca; two sons, Tom Adams of Fort Smith and Ronnie White and wife Rebecca of Charleston; one step-daughter, Susie White of Palestine, Texas; two step-sons, Jerry Don White and wife Ginger of Van Buren and Charles White of Midland, Texas; (17) grandchildren, (21) great grandchildren, and (3) great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandson's; Nick Chronister, Jeff Stockton, Jeremy Stockton, D.J. White, Zach White, and Richard St.John.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
