Obituary

Emil William "Butch" Hubit, Sr., who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at his home. He was born August 4, 1942 in West New York, New Jersey to the late Emil Joseph Hubit and Louise (Kortecius) Hubit. He was 71 years old. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Lee McGuckin.

Butch was a retired plumber. He was a member of Local Union 029 and was of the Presbyterian faith. Butch loved fishing, playing cards with his friends and loved animals of all kinds. His family was very precious to him, especially his wife and great-grandkids. He was there for anyone who needed a helping hand. He will be greatly missed.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 11th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Vondal Davenport officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Parks Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary (Plaschke) Hubit of the home; two daughters, Brenda Bedward and husband Donavan of Lakewood, New Jersey and Lori Hubit of Belman, New Jersey; two sons, Emil W. "Butch" Hubit, Jr. and wife Sharon of Howell Township, New Jersey and Dennis Cochran of New York; one step-son, David Nerem of Renwick, Iowa; two sisters, Diane Cottrell and husband Charlie of Jackson, New Jersey and Janice McCaffrey and husband Mike of Jackson, New Jersey; (13) grandchildren and (4) great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday prior to the memorial service.
