Elizabeth L. Martin

Elizabeth Lafoye Martin, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at her home. She was born on December 30, 1953, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Jerry B. Sharpe and Sarah P. (Jackson) Sharpe. She was 72 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Andrew Sharpe.

Elizabeth worked for Greenhurst Nursing Center as a nurse's aide until she retired. She attended First Baptist Church in Charleston. She loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday August 14th, at First Baptist Church in Charleston, Arkansas, with Rev. Artie Hudson officiating. Cremation will follow after the funeral service.

She is survived by a daughter, Jerry Zealand of San Francisco; a son, David (Mary Ellen) Martin of York, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Meghan Martin and Charlie Martin; and her dear friends, Teresa Bowles and Amber Noble.

The family will visit with friends prior to the service starting at 9:00 a.m., Friday, August 14th, at the church.

All services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
