Elizabeth Ann Godfrey, who resided near Charleston, Arkansas, died Monday, November 27, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on September 26, 1942, in Conway, Arkansas, to the late William Alexander Niven, Sr. and Jackie E. (Farr) Niven. She was 81 years old.

For several years, Liz was the bookkeeper for Godfrey & Black Brick & Stone Company in Fort Smith. She took care of her parents for many years, who she loved very much. She raised, trained, and sold birddog puppies for several years, and helped raise cattle on the family farm. She loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, Larry Godfrey; two sons, Larry Godfrey, Jr. and Lance Godfrey, both of Charleston; a brother, William A. Niven, Jr. and wife Judy of Siloam Springs; and two grandchildren, Beth Godfrey and Bridges Godfrey.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
