October 2, 1932 – March 28, 2023
Eleanor Louise Gray of Branch, Arkansas, entered into Heaven on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, after 90 years. She was a born again follower of Jesus Christ and committed member of First Baptist Church in Branch. She was a devoted wife to Jimmy Gray, a loving mother and granny, and a dedicated friend to so many. Her entire life was an example of grace, giving, and serving others.
Eleanor was born on October 2, 1932, in Premont, Texas, where she married Jimmy Gray and eventually moved to Branch. She was a homemaker, businesswoman, and co-owner and operator of Gray's Feed Mill in Branch. She enjoyed camping with her husband and spreading love and cheer to others through calls and cards. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lewis Schuchert and Bonnie Leah (Lucas) Schuchert; her husband of 68 years, Jimmy Gray; and her brothers, Charlie Schuchert and Leroy "Pete" Schuchert.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 30th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Bro. Tim Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by her two daughters, Diane Mainer and husband Mick of Ratcliff and Debbie Chastain and husband Dennis of Branch; four grandchildren, Amy Mileham and husband Toby, Andy Chastain and wife Kayre, Joy Sharp and husband Ted, and Aaron Chastain and wife Lori; seven wonderful great-grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler, McKenzie, Briley, Moses, Allie, and Collin; along with nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Dennis Chastain, Aaron Chastain, Andy Chastain, Moses Chastain, Toby Mileham, Dwayne Hopkins, and Clinton Bottoms.
The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, an hour prior to the funeral service.
A special thanks to Greenhurst Nursing Center and Heart of Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. Eleanor will be missed!
