Emma Elaine Brotherton, who resided in Waldron, Arkansas, died Thursday, December 31, 2020, in Waldron. She was born September 9, 1955, in Ozark, Arkansas, to Billy Joe Brewer and Louellen Dooly Brewer. She was 65 years old. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Joe Brewer, and an infant brother, Mickey Brewer.

Elaine was a homemaker. She was a 1973 graduate of Lavaca High School and was an outstanding basketball player for the Lavaca Golden Arrows. She was an avid gardener, designer, a former G.A. leader, and a member of First Baptist Church in Waldron.

There will be a private family graveside service at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 48 years, Dwight Brotherton; a daughter, Courtney Metcalf and husband Ron of Waldron; a son, Christopher Brotherton and wife Amy of Greenwood; her mother, Lou Manes of Lavaca; her brother, Barry Joe Brewer and wife Tina of Lavaca; three grandchildren, Bradley Brotherton and wife Jaelee, Trace Brotherton, and Lane Metcalf; one great-granddaughter, Brylee Brotherton.

Visitation hours will be Sunday, January 3rd, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
