Obituary

Edward I. Riley, who resided near Paris, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021, in Irving, Texas. He was born on February 19, 1926, in Paris, Arkansas, to the late Edward P. Riley and Mamie (Barnard) Riley. He was 95 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Danny Riley; and a sister, Faye Simmons.

Ed was an Aerospace Engineer, a 65 year life member of the Masons, and a combat U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he received a Bronze Star.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Vondal Davenport officiating. Burial, with military honors and masonic rites, will be at Caulksville Cemetery in Caulksville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by a daughter, Karin Silvey of Irving, Texas; a son, Dennis Riley of Wichita, Kansas; a step-son, Michael Vickery of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Michael Silvey and wife Terry, Aaron Riley and wife Trish, Audra Turner and husband John, Tammy Loomis, and Sherry Coffman; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends an hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home in Charleston.
