Edward Odell "Happy Jack" Todd, who resided in Bloomer near Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at his home. He was born July 27, 1937 in Mulberry, Arkansas, to the late David Todd and Maudie Ellen (Harris) Todd. He was 78 years old. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sandy Todd; one son, Jackie Todd; and one step-daughter, Debria Beckham.
Jack worked for Desoto Furniture Factory in Fort Smith for many years. He was a truck driver, also worked in the oilfields, and he was a member of Brooklyn Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 4th, at Brooklyn Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. J.L. Bonds officiating. Burial will be at New Cemetery in Mulberry, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Helen (Greenwood) Todd; one daughter, Cindy Leonard of Fort Smith; one son, Michael Todd and wife Brenda of Fort Smith; one step-daughter, Linda Crabtree and husband John of Clarksville; one step-son, Jimmy Beckham and wife Janet of Charleston; one sister, Marie Odom of Kibler; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Boyd Cox, Jimmy Cox, John Popa, Chase Norris, Danny Shaw, and Melvin Swain.
Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.
