Obituary

Eddie Dewayne Thompson, 66, of Lavaca, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at his home. He was born May 24, 1959, in Yuma, Arizona to the late Billy Ray "Blue" Thompson and Clara "Marie" (Littlejohn) Thompson.

A lifelong worker, Eddie spent many years as a truck driver and machine operator. He is preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Sam Thompson and Alpha "Alfie" (Reeves) Thompson; maternal grandparents, Rufus Ado Littlejohn and Clara Ethel (Farris) Littlejohn; his brother, Paul Allen Thompson; his wife of many years, Sheri Lynn (Brown) Thompson; one daughter, Crista Mae Thompson; and many aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his daughter, TeLaira Jean Fry of Fort Smith; one brother, Tommy Lee Thompson of Lavaca; one sister, Kim Denise (Thompson) Burlison of Lavaca; one uncle, Bobby Lee Thompson of Ozark; one aunt, Anna Faye (Littlejohn) Romanini of Bakersfield, California; and many nieces and nephews.

At Eddie's request, his body was donated to the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine to help the students learn.

A memorial service celebrating Eddie's life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Courage to Change Church, located at 13110 Highway 45 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
