Calvin Edward (Eddie) Elmore, who resided in Russellville, Arkansas, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home after a two year battle with cancer at the age of 60. He was born May 6, 1957, in Fort Smith Arkansas, to Calvin Elmore and Selba Wabane Noys Elmore. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Kim Humphreys Elmore; two brothers-in-law, Donnie Escalante and Pete Butler; and one nephew, Gary Escalante.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie Hettinga Elmore of Russellville; one son, Ryan (Chelsey) Elmore of Greenwood, AR; two step-sons TJ (Jenny) Posey and Luke (Kaci) Posey of Russellville; mother-in-law Jo Ann Hettinga of Russellville; four sisters, Jo Ann Escalante, Saundra (Jerry) Carter, Susie Butler, and Cheryl (Larry) Craig all of Greenwood, AR; and many other extended family members. He is also survived by his pride and joy grandson Wes Posey and newborn grandson Drew Posey.
A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 1st, at First Baptist Church Worship Center in Russellville, with the Rev. Mike Cloud and the Rev. Brandon Mistler officiating. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 5 th at 10:00 a.m. at Mayberry Cemetery in Central City, Arkansas, with the Rev. Roger Haney officiating, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church where he worked in the children's ministry before becoming too ill. He is a former member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and worked in children's ministry. He was an industrial insulator by trade and worked for Mid America Insulation until the company dissolved in 2014. He then became an employee of Kirby Specialties, a career he thoroughly enjoyed before becoming too ill.
Memorials may be made to missionary Rhonda Criswell, in care of Global Outreach International, P.O. Box One, Tupelo, Mississippi, 38802. Arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris, Arkansas.
