Edward Jerrald Davidson, who resided near Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017, at his home. He was born July 19, 1928, in Gurdon, Arkansas to the late Derritt G. Davidson and Gertrude (Ketterman) Davidson. He was 89 years old. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, son-in-law, and their two children, Cynthia, Don, Sarah and Samuel Johnson; and another daughter, Janie Langston.
Ed was a retired electrician at Trane, Inc. in Fort Smith. He served in the Army Air Corps during the end of WWII. He was also a member of UAW Local 716 in Fort Smith, and he was a member of Lavaca First Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 10th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Buddy Corbell officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Ridge Cemetery, located northeast of Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Christeen (Martin) Davidson; one daughter, Susie Shaw of Charleston; one son, David Davidson and wife Laura of Lavaca; (8) grandchildren and (14) great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Scott Bugg, Steve Winters, Dennis Jones, Mike Smith, David Langston, and Grant Langston.
Family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home.
