Lawrence Edward Blodgett, who resided near Ratcliff, Arkansas, died Sunday, April 23, 2023, at his home. He was born on March 11, 1931, in Hamilton, Montana, to the late Newman Almond "Dude" Blodgett and Rita (Garrod) Blodgett. He was 92 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Opal (Biggs) Blodgett; two brothers, Bud Blodgett and Max Blodgett; and his sister, Lela Bigelow.
Ed was a retired master plumber for thirty years and member of Local 29 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters in Fort Smith. He was an U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Korean War Conflict.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 28th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Bro. Jimmy Cook officiating. Burial will follow, with military honors, at Caulksville Cemetery in Caulksville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by three sons, Jerry Blodgett and wife Terri of Ratcliff, Terry Blodgett and wife Anna of Pensacola, Florida, and Alan Blodgett and wife Olivia of Greenwood; (8) grandchildren and (19) great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Danny Duke, Kevin Williamson, Jordan Blodgett, Cory Vest, Steven Sosebee, Caden Vest, and Shawn Shaffer.
Honorary pallbearers are Arlis Biggs, Max Blodgett, and James West.
The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Charleston.
