Obituary

Earlene Hammock of Van Buren, Arkansas, died Thursday, April 25, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 25, 1926, in Cameron, Oklahoma, to the late John Benjamin Neal and Nellie Bea (Ledbetter) Neal. She was 97 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Bill Hammock; and a son, Richard Hamby.

Earlene was a retired clerk and seamstress. She was an avid reader, enjoyed quilting, and was a member of Kibler Baptist Church. She loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 29th at Kibler Baptist Church, with Pastor Lee Denton and Rev. David Bowen officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by two daughters, Terrie Mackle and husband Gene of Alma and Ginger Bowen and husband Gary of Van Buren; (9) grandchildren; (18) great-grandchildren; and (2) great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Kevin Bowen, David Bowen, Scott Gilreath, Brian Gilreath, Nathan Scott, and Zane Lopez.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Kibler Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to G.I.F.T. Ministry at Kibler Baptist Church.
