Earl Dudley King, 82, of Charleston, Arkansas died Friday January 25, 2008 in a Clarksville hospital. He was born June 26, 1925 in Chismville to the late Jesse Mason King and Ellen Ruth Brickey King. He was a retired coal miner for the Garland Coal Company in Charleston, was past president, secretary, served on the negotiating committee board for the UMWA Local# 1285, was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, member of the American Legion and a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Charleston. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Charleson, with Military Honors. Officiating the funeral service will be the Reverend Elton Pennington and the Reverend Greg Qualls.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jessie Lee Milam King; two daughters, Linda Cox and husband Jim of Cox Valley and Cindy Hewitt and husband Kenny of Charleston; one son, Earl Dean King of Charleston,; two sisters, Clara Bradley of Booneville and Zelma Whitley of Charleston; seven grandchildren; Tonja Smith, Kelly Barnard, Brian King, Ian Hewitt, Ryan Hewitt, Brandi Cox, and Justin Cox, and ten great-grandchildren, Devin Nelson, Natalie Smith, Hannah Cox, Taylor King, Baylee King, Alexis Norris, Brock Knoten, Elias Hewitt, Kira Hewitt and Joslyn Hewitt.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Meisner, Jim McCartney, Mike Law, Dennis Van Meter, Jerry McFerran, David Price, Joe Rietman, Harmon Sharpe, Steve Heim, Sr., Dr. Steve Heim, A. C. Banning, Harold Arnold and Leo Robertson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital, 800 Marshall Street, Little Rock, AR 72202, or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
