Obituary

Doris Gean (Lipe) Johns, who resided in Paris, Arkansas, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 in Paris. She was born November 29, 1925 in Paris to the late Guy E. Lipe and Isa D. (Burnham) Lipe. She was 87 years old. She was also preceded in death by her three sisters, Ruby Jewel Schlachman, Mattie Belle Lipe, and Mary Earnestine McClary.

Doris was a 1943 graduate of Paris High School and a 1947 graduate of Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and a school teacher. She worked in the Logan County Clerk's office for 10 years, and was a member of the Church of Christ in Paris.

There will be a private family funeral service and burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Paris, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Tom Buck Johns; two daughters, Judi Green and husband Gary of Rogers and Mary Jane Campbell and husband Ben of Hot Springs; one son, Tom Lipe Johns and wife Kay of Paris; six grandchildren, Clesha Reading and husband Kent, Garrett Green, Adrienne Lonaberger and husband Kyle, Katie Johns, Shelby Johns, and Tom Reed Johns; two great-grandchildren, Lauren Parks and Logan Parks; and many nieces and nephews.

Family will visit with friends 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1st, at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
