Doris Evelyn Blodgett, who resided in Ratcliff, died Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. She was born July 11, 1936, in Humphrey, Arkansas, to the late Russell Haywood Arnett and Clara Lee (Shipley) Arnett. She was 83 years old. She was preceded in death also by her first husband, Charles Ray Melton; a daughter, Norma Austin; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Melton; and two brothers and three sisters.

Doris was a retired CNA, a homemaker, and attended Brooklyn Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with the Rev. J.L. Bonds officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Booneville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Ed Blodgett; three daughters, Linda Melton Of Birmingham, Alabama, Nancy Gattis and husband Steve of Ratcliff, and Debbie Risner of Waldron; four sons, Steven Melton and wife Teresa of Henrietta, Oklahoma, David Melton and wife Sherry of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Johnny Melton and wife Paula of Ratcliff, and Donnie Melton and wife Connie of Booneville; three step-sons; one sister, Carolyn Lewis of Paris; two brothers, Russell Arnett of Attica, Kansas and Jesse Earl Arnett of Brinkley, Arkansas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are David Melton, Jonathon Melton, Charlie Melton, Kale Melton, Robert Henderson, and Christopher Melton.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 23rd, at the funeral home in Paris.
