Obituary
Donald Earl "Donnie" Combs, who resided in Central City, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at his home. He was born April 3, 1955, in Paris, Arkansas to the late Donald Paul Combs and Vera Ann (Frye) Combs. He was 61 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Paul Combs.
Donnie was an avid Razorback fan, fisherman, and hunter. He was a member and drummer for several country bands. He had a love for feeding his squirrels, which would eat right out of his hands and he loved riding his four-wheeler. Donnie was of the Baptist faith.
Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11th, at Caulksville Cemetery in Caulksville, with the Rev. George Barham officiating, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by one daughter, Alicia Nelson and husband Matt of Altus; four sons, John Paul Combs and wife Tiffany of Charleston, Nathan Combs of Lavaca, B. J. Turner and Kevin Turner, both of Booneville; his mother, Vera Ann Combs of Central City; three sisters, Paula Schoen and husband Bobby, Tonya Fagan and husband Jerry, and Josie Marie Combs, all of Central City, and a special sister, Susan Travis of Spiro, Oklahoma; one brother, James Paul Combs of Central City; nine grandchildren, Karleey, Landin, Joslin, Brayden, Daxton, Johne, Ria, Justin, and Destinee; his maternal grandmother, Odessa "Tootie" Frye of Barling; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Benny Chambers, Ricky Dale Chronister, Clifford Hendrix, John Burlison and Steve Chronister. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Oliver, Perry Burlison and former band musicians.
Family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home in Charleston.
