IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donna Jean
Green
July 9, 1958 – January 16, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of our precious, Donna Jean Green, a cherished member of our family, on January 16, 2025. Born on July 9, 1958, she graced this world with her gentle spirit and became a living testament to kindness, resilience, and faith.
Donna Jean lived her life with cerebral palsy, yet her condition never defined her. Instead, she radiated strength, joy, and an unshakable faith that inspired everyone she met. Her days were filled with love and laughter, and her pure-hearted perspective reminded us of life's simplest and most profound blessings.
To her family and friends, Donna was a source of unwavering light and hope. She taught us patience, compassion, and the beauty of unconditional love. Her life was a reflection of Jesus' promise of healing and grace, and she advanced through this world as a representation of His love.
She was surrounded by a community of devoted caregivers, family, and friends who loved her deeply and ensured she was always supported and cherished. Her gentle smile and kind presence left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though her earthly journey has come to an end, we find comfort in knowing that she is now free from all limitations, experiencing the fullness of God's promises. She has been reunited with loved ones who have gone before her and is undoubtedly embraced in eternal peace.
Donna Jean is survived by her sister, Darla Heckman and husband Jeff of Lavaca; two nephews, Dakota Hayes and wife Megan and Kyle Bruso and wife Megan, all of Greenwood; several great nieces and nephews; many aunts and uncles; a host of close friends who are more like family, and her steadfast caregivers of nearly 20 years, Paula (Niecey) Bostic, Brittany Marshall, and Melissa Woodward. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rhonda Bruso, her mother Donnelle Green, and father Roy-Gene Green, all of Lavaca.
A celebration of Donna Jean's life will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Rev. Danny Green officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a special needs/cerebral palsy charity of your choice, in her memory.
Rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus, precious Donna. Your legacy of love and faith will live on in our hearts forever.
