Dennis Lee Hewitt, 56, of Charleston died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, in Paris. He was born Sept. 19, 1951, in Charleston to the late Willie "Buck" Hewitt and Ann Rose Scalia Hewitt. He was a self-employed master carpenter, a 1969 graduate of Charleston High School, was a former member of the Charleston Riding Club, member of the Quarter Horse Association and member of the Charleston First Baptist Church.
Officiating the funeral service will be the Rev. Craig West and the Rev. Bill Van Meter.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Charleston with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie Hewitt of the home; four daughters, September Hewitt of Fayetteville, London Hewitt of Little Rock, Kirsten Hewitt of the home and Crissy Hewitt of the home; one stepdaughter, Lindsay Crabtree of Charleston; one sister, Sharon Sharpe of Charleston; two brothers, Bill Hewitt and Rodney Hewitt, both of Charleston; and one grandson, Caydon Grandison of Little Rock.
Pallbearers: Jerry, Heath, Chase and Caleb Rainwater, B.J. Krallman, Pete Strozier and E.J. Neissl.
Honorary pallbearers: Bryan Hewitt, Blayne and Scott Sharpe.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
