Obituary

Delores Ann House, who resided in Lavaca, died Friday, December 27, 2019, at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was born March 24, 1943, in Charleston, to the late Kay Hewitt and Ila Rae Bonner Hewitt. She was 76 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 53 years, J.D. House; a son, Clifford Kenneth Keith; and four brothers, Phillip, Lewis, Ronnie, and Ricky Hewitt.

Delores was a retired cashier for over 20 years at Pic-N-Tote Convenience Store in Fort Smith, and a member of Lavaca First Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31st, at Measles Cemetery in Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Steven Shotzman.

She is survived by a daughter, Kim Blackford and husband James of Lavaca; a son, Johnny House of Lavaca; a sister, Nancy Chaney of Huntington; six grandchildren, Ruben Dampier, Jr., Bobbie Montiel, Kenny Keith, Jesse Young, Ryan Blackford, and Jordan Blackford; nine great-grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
