Della Pauline Grissom resided in Scranton, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009, at the the Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville. She was born June 26, 1923 in Logan County to the late Abner Spellins and Anna Ockenfels Spellins. She was 85 years old.

Pauline retired from the Arkansas Department of Finance & Administration Revenue Office in 1988. Upon her retirement, she worked for the City of Scranton for 13 years as Treasurer/Recorder. She was chairman of the Logan County Republican Party for 12 years and a member of the Scranton First Baptist Church.

She is also preceded in death by her brother, Willie Spellins and her daughter, Janie Grissom Fultz.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at the Scranton First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Franklin Piercey officiating, with burial at the Elizabeth Hall Cemetery in New Blaine, under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Arvel J. Grissom, of the home; one son, Paul Grissom & wife Janet, of Scranton; two sisters, Margie Glover of Owasso, Oklahoma and Lorene Enigh of Houston, Texas; three granddaughters, Taressa Young & husband Bill, of Springtown, Texas, Sondra Benge & husband Steve, of New Blaine and Erin Stovall of Scranton; one grandson, Wally Street & wife Dena, of Scranton; seven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mark Snow, Richard Fox, John R. Fox, Leonard Berry, Mike Hampton and Clinton Bottoms.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at the funeral home.
