Debra Kay Phillips, who resided in Paris, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on June 17, 1956, in Paris to the late George and Oma (McElhaney) Schouweiler. She was 66 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Gladys Hatwig, Virginia Whitman, Pat Sampley, and Dorthey Absher; and one granddaughter, Brittany Sue Phillips.

Debra worked as a caregiver, first babysitting and then with adults until she was no longer able. She was always a loving wife, mother, and Nana to her family.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gary Phillips; one son, Gary Lynn Phillips and wife Raquel of Paris; two daughters, Becky Phillips of Abilene, Texas, and Carolyn Phillips of Paris; five grandchildren, Ashton Patton, Aliyah Bingham, Andrea Phillips, Buddy Phillips and Jessica Phillips; and one great-granddaughter coming in January.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Paris.
