Lewis David Koontz, who resided near Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born August 13, 1947, in Tucson, Arizona to the late Richard Wayland Koontz and Lois Geneva (Lewis) Koontz. He was 68 years old. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Koontz.
David was an internal auditor at Donrey Media Group in Fort Smith for 16 years and retired from Weyerhaeuser in Little Rock. He was a 1965 graduate of Charleston High School, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and he was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his sister, June Harrower and husband Ralph of Charleston; his sister-in-law, Cora Ann Koontz of Charleston; two nieces, Cari Whitney of Charleston and Tammy Dyce of Conway; two nephews, Randy Koontz of Rogers and Terry Harrower of Conway; seven great-nieces and nephews, Meredith, Megan, and Mallory Koontz, Matthew Koontz, Ethan Whitney, and Cohen Harrower.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. There will be no services scheduled.
