David Lee Johnson, who resided in Alma, Arkansas, died Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on November 10, 1961, at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, to Buddy Johnson and Diana L. (Brown) Johnson. He was 60 years old.
David was a 1980 graduate of Alma High School. He was an outstanding baseball player and had many scholarship offers after graduating from Alma High School. He served his country while being enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, and he was of the Assembly of God faith.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Tuesday, May 3rd at the Alma Community Center in Alma. All family and friends are invited to drop in between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Cremation Services in Fort Smith.
He is survived by two daughters, Lindsey Watts of Sallisaw, Oklahoma and Kim Michael and husband Jessi of Pocola, Oklahoma; his father and mother, Buddy and Diana Johnson of Alma; his sister, Bonnie Strunk and husband Paul of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; two brothers, Jake Johnson and wife Cletha of Van Buren and Michael Johnson and wife Terri of Alma; four grandchildren, Anna Belle Abernathy, Carey Abernathy, Sonny Michael, and Ashton Watts; several nieces and nephews.
