David Wayne Hawkins, who resided near Ratcliff, Arkansas, died Saturday, February 18, 2023, at his home. He was born on November 28, 1957, in Ozark, Arkansas, to James Earl Hawkins and Patricia Ann (Kanady) Hawkins. He was 65 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, James Hawkins.

For many years, David was a dairy farmer and currently was a cattle rancher. He was a 1976 graduate of County Line High School. He served as a deacon and church treasurer and was a faithful member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his family very much and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21st at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Pastor Thomas Lenard officiating. Burial will follow at Wilcox-Nixon Cemetery, located south of Caulksville on Hwy. 23, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of almost 47 years, Joetta (Sosebee) Hawkins; one daughter, Cara Merritt and husband Ryan of Ratcliff; two sons, Nolan Hawkins and wife Misty and Nathan Hawkins, all of Ratcliff; his mother, Pat Hawkins of Ratcliff; a sister, Kim Hawkins of Ratcliff; and three grandchildren, Grayson Merritt, Lauren Merritt and Hailee Hawkins.

Pallbearers are Marlon Kanady, Roger Goodson, John Collums, Steve Alexander, Mike Jones, and David H. Sosebee.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, Febuary 20th at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked donations be made to Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, 5230 W. Hwy. 96 Ozark, AR  72949.
