Obituary

Daryl Lee Wilson, who resided in Arkoma, Oklahoma, died Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Baptist Health Hospital in Fort Smith. He was born March 12, 1950, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to the late Herbert Earl Wilson and Martha Melinda (Hinkle) Wilson. He was 70 years old. He was preceded in death also by his step-father, George Wood; a grandson, Rowan Wilson; a brother and a sister, Earl Wilson and Debbie Medina.

Daryl was owner and operator of Daryl and Family Automotive in Arkoma. He was an U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He and one other soldier were the only two survivors out of their group to survive in battle that day in April. Daryl was a member of Assembly of God Church in Arkoma. Daryl loved his family and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Melba (Young) Wilson; two sons, John Wilson and wife Rachel of Arkoma and Marty Wilson and wife Docia of New Castle, Oklahoma; one sister, Sue Newsom of Quanah, Texas; six grandchildren, Lincoln, Declan, Jayden, Racheal, Sara, Ryan, and Serena.
