Obituary

Emma Darlene Mantooth, who resided in Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. She was born on April 18, 1947, in Lavaca to the late Fred Pierce and Cleo (Bonner) Pierce. She was 75 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Mantooth; two brothers, Ray Dean Pierce and Harley Pierce; and a sister, Rose Mary Jones.

Darlene was a homemaker and a 1965 graduate of Lavaca High School. She was an artist, enjoyed painting, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lavaca.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 18th at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will follow at Browns Chapel Cemetery, located northeast of Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Officiating the service will be Bro. Kyle Horton.

She is survived by a daughter, Amy Simmons and husband Kenneth of Charleston; a son, Paul Mantooth and wife Jennifer of Lavaca; two sisters, Dorothy Williams of Charleston and Velta Oxford and husband Everett of Mansfield; two brothers, Donnie Pierce and wife Judy of Cecil, and Larry Pierce and wife Yvonne of Greenwood; and a granddaughter, Destiny Mantooth of Fort Smith.

Pallbearers will be Michael Williams, Dennis Jones, John Jones, Matthew Pierce, and Kenneth Simmons.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
