Sadie 'Darlene' (Bagwell) Nelson of Greenwood, Arkansas, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born on October 5, 1948, in Leesville, Louisiana, to the late Marion "Blackie" Verdell Bagwell Sr. and Etta Bernice (Smith) Bagwell. She was 73 years old. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Cheryl Ingracia and Gloria Jeanne "Butch" Balch.

Darlene was a retired CNA, a loving mother, sister and aunt, and was of the Christian faith.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Phelps and Chrissie Cooper, and a grandson, Justin Eads, all residing in Kentucky; one brother, Marion "Dale" Verdell Bagwell, Jr.; twelve nieces and nephews; niece and caregiver, Kimberly Stiefel of Greenwood. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion 'Blackie' Verdell Bagwell, Sr and Etta 'Bernice' (Smith) Bagwell and sisters; Cheryl Ingracia and Gloria Jeanne "Butch" Balch.
