Obituary

Silas Daniel Campbell of Lavaca, Arkansas, died Monday, September 16, 2024, at his home. He was born on July 15, 1950, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to the late Daniel Campbell and Eunice Iona (Haley) Campbell. He was 74 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Eileen (Guinn) Campbell.

For many years, Dan was the plant manager at Magnetics in Booneville and later at Cloyes Gear Company in Subiaco. Dan was an avid hunter and enjoyed going with the same group of guys to deer camp every deer season. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 19th at Nixon Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Officiating the service will be his brother-in-law, John Vendel.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Penny (McGill) Campbell; his children, Michelle Campbell of Fort Smith and Michael Campbell of Ashville, North Carolina; his sister, Danalene Porter and husband Daryld of Van Buren; and two grandchildren, Jordan Campbell and David Campbell.

Pallbearers are Marc Taylor, David Zirbel, Ronnie Ross, Don Ulmer, Brian Martin, and Darrin Martin.

The family will visit with friends an hour prior to service starting at 2:00 p.m. at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston. Everyone will leave the funeral home in a funeral procession to Nixon Cemetery around 2:45 p.m. All family and friends are invited to attend.
