Curtis Ralph Gipson, who resided in Fort Smith, died Friday, October 2, 2020, in Lavaca. He was born December 24, 1956, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to the late Curtis Lane Gipson and Dora Lou (Chronister) Gipson. He was 63 years old.
Curtis worked for Rheem Manufacturing in Fort Smith for 38 years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, archery, and he was of the Baptist faith.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 7th, at Oak Valley Cemetery, located south of Lavaca on Hwy. 96, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Officiating the service will be Pastor Steven Smithson.
He is survived by his wife Gwyn (Adamec) Gipson; his son, Adam Gipson and wife Ashley of Lavaca; a sister, Glenda Reed and husband Greg of Lavaca; three brothers, Kenneth Gipson and wife Julie of Opelousas, Louisiana, Wade Allen Gipson of Lavaca, and Eddie Gipson of Fort Smith; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Dale Chronister, Jr., Jeremy Chronister, Chris Hacker, Travis Deer, Keith Deer, and Mark Schoen.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday night at the funeral home.
