Obituary

Clifford Ray Phelps of Greenwood, Arkansas, died Sunday, November 12, 2023, at his home. He was born on June 3, 1952, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, to the late Quincy Dolan Phelps and Hazel Evelyn (Jesson) Phelps. He was 71 years old.

He was a man of many hobbies. He enjoyed working with his hands, whether building things in his workshop or fixing up cars. He loved to be outdoors shooting guns or going fishing. He loves all things "cowboy", watching reruns of westerns, riding horses, and listening to old country music. In addition to horses, he raised exotic birds and rabbits. He had a big heart and he always just wanted to help. He loved the Lord.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Bill VanMeter officiating. Cremation will follow after the service, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his two daughters, Holly Shotzman and husband Kevin of Charleston and Devan Engster and husband Rob of Fort Smith; two sisters, June Constable and husband Jim Haney of Kimberling City, Missouri, and Angela Thames and husband Jeff of Springdale; a brother, Joe Phelps of Livingston, Montana; four grandchildren, Jake Shotzman, Drew Engster, Braden Shotzman, and Kenzie Engster; and several nieces and nephews that he loved very much.

Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Shotzman, Rob Engster, Jake Shotzman, Drew Engster, Braden Shotzman, Jim Cox, and Jody Fischer.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
