Cleatus Mae Cox, who resided near Branch, Arkansas, formerly of the Cox Valley Community, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016, at her daughter's home near Branch. She was born December 30, 1925 in the Chismville Community in Logan County, Arkansas to the late Evan Lovett and Necie (Barnard) Lovett. She was 90 years old. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Vernon Mitchell Cox; two grandchildren, Joshua Cox and Kerrie Cox; one sister, Edith Rae Cox.
Cleatus was a homemaker and she was a member of Brooklyn Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6th, at Brooklyn Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. J.L. Bonds and the Rev. Vondal Davenport officiating. Burial will be at Clark's Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Shaw and husband Danny of Branch; four sons, Boyd Cox and wife Marlene and Jimmy Cox, all of the Cox Valley Community, Richard Cox and wife Barbara of Greenwood, and Randy Cox and wife Beverly of Dardanelle; sixteen grandchildren, Brandi Cox, Shannon Popa (John), Tammy Keezer (Donnie), Justin Cox (Sara), Jake Cox, Shawna Miles (Alan), Melissa Shores (Rudy), Nichole Brewer (Justin), Lesleigh Smith (Ken), Lucas Cox (Bayley), Logan Cox, Emily Clark (Randy), Bethany Shaw, Layton Shaw, Jasmine Frazier, and Lakesha Frazier; (15) great-grandchildren, Dillon, Caleb, Jonah, Adam, Isabella, Lainey, Caroline, Hanna, Summer, Mitchell, Amber (Andy), Daniel, Kolton, Karalyn, and A.J.; three great great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Rebekah, and Lola.
Pallbearers will be Justin, Jake, and Lucas Cox, John Popa, Donnie Keezer, and Layton Shaw.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Brooklyn Free Will Baptist Church.
Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home in Charleston.
