James Clayton Cooper, who resided in Paris, Arkansas, died Sunday, June 6, 2021, in Paris. He was born March 6, 1936, in Paris, Arkansas, to Max Clayton Cooper and Treasy Earls Cooper. He was 85 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max Clayton Cooper and Treasy Cooper Appleton.
Clayton retired after 35 years as office manager at Cloyes Gear in Paris. He served in the Army National Guard, and was a member of the Church of Christ in Paris.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 10th, at the Church of Christ in Paris, with Mr. Kevin Haven officiating. Burial will be at Raney Cemetery, northeast of Paris, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Jones Cooper of the home; one daughter, Rocci Malone of Paris; two sons, Brian Cooper and wife Teresa and Bruce Cooper and wife Paula, all of Paris; a sister, Linda Harrison of Paris; a brother, Travis Cooper and wife Judy of Paris; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on the Thursday, June 10 th prior to the service at the church.
