Clara Lee DeLisle, who resided in Paris, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Mercy Hospital, Fort Smith. She was born October 13, 1934, in Booneville, to the late Thomas V. Nixon and Hildred (Smith) Nixon. She was 84 years old. She was also preceded in death by her late husbands, Leonard Edward Varnell and William "Bill" DeLisle; a daughter, Lorna Post; two brothers, Volney and M.C. Nixon; a sister, Margie Robertson.

Clara worked at the pants factory in Paris for many years, and retired from Cloyes Gear Company in Paris. She was a member of Faith Pentecostal Church in Paris.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2019, at Faith Pentecostal Church of God in Paris, with the Rev. Ted Matlock and Rev. James Jones officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

She is survived by four daughters, Marquetta Walker, Linda Stinnett , Beverly Fox and husband Jack, and Tara DeLisle; a son, Eddie Varnell and wife Kim; two sisters, Twila Varnell and Joy Rogers; a son-in-law, William Post; her step-children, Suzanne Moore and husband Jerry, Therisa Hilkert and husband Tom, Paul DeLisle and wife Kathy, Bill Root and wife Barbara, and Jimmy Root; (54) grandchildren, (28) great-grandchildren, and (5) great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Graham, Paul Post, Harlan Walker, Jacob Walker, Chris Vaughn, Josh Vaughn, David Edward Varnell, and Logan Varnell.

The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
