Charlotte (Hartley) Loyd of Booneville, Arkansas, passed to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 11, 2024, in Booneville. She was born on January 4, 1932, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to the late Avery Hartley and Ida Leaon (Jackson) Hartley. She was 92 years old. Charlotte was affectionally known as "Shockey" to all of her family and friends. Charlotte married JB Loyd on June 13, 1947, and they were married until JB's death on April 10, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Bentley Loyd; three brothers; and three sisters.
Charlotte's journey through life took her numerous Arkansas residences to Williamsville, Illinois, and Yakima, Washington. For several years, Charlotte was a customer service manager for Walmart in Russellville and in Morrilton. She was an artist, enjoyed painting, and loved to attend family reunions. She was a devout Christian who read her Bible daily and loved her family very much. She will be missed by everyone who knew her,
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 15th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Her body will be cremated following the service and her cremains will be buried with her husband at Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima, Washington. Services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Loyd and wife Dana Renee of Little Rock, Arkansas, Ronald Loyd and wife Jennifer of Yakima, Washington, and Tony Loyd and wife Lynn of Little Canada, Minnesota; a daughter, Mary Loyd of San Diego, California. She was blessed with (11) grandchildren; (18) great-grandchildren; and (1) great-great-grandchild.
The family will visit with friends an hour prior to the service on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
