Charles Andrew Tharp, Sr., who resided near Cecil, Arkansas, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born March 18, 1936 in Hon, Arkansas in Scott County, to the late Homer Tharp and Helen (Holmes) Tharp. He was 80 years old. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ramona Franklin.

Charles was a retired construction worker and equipment operator for various Oilfield-Pipeline Company's.

He is survived by two daughters, Lavonda Martin and husband Wayne of Cecil and Sheila Stallings and husband Dirk of Little Elm, Texas; two sons, Charles Tharp, Jr. and wife Rebecca of Midland, Texas and Butch Tharp of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The body was cremated. There will be a private family held memorial service at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
