Obituary

Charles Paul Potts, Sr. who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in Fort Smith. He was born February 13, 1934 in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was 78 years old.

Charles was a retired welder at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith. He served in the U.S. Army, and was a faithful member of Church of Christ in Charleston.

Charles enjoyed helping prepare game day meals for the Charleston Tiger football team. Above all, Charles enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. No matter what they were doing, he was there.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 13th, at Church of Christ in Charleston, with Frank Morgan officiating. Burial will be at Parks Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon (Hayes) Potts; three sons, Chip Potts and wife Megan of Lavaca, Karl Potts and wife Susan of Charleston, and Kyle Potts and wife Karen of Charleston; one sister, Joyce Turner of Evansville, Indiana; five brothers, Jerry Potts of Bentonville, Bill Potts of Wichita, Kansas, David Potts of Fairfield, Illinois, John Potts of Rogers, and Gary Potts of Fairfield, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Karl Mark Potts, Jr., Charles Potts, III, Kelly Eckstein, Alison Glover, Taylor Potts, Evan Potts, Kayla Potts, and Brad Potts.

Pallbearers will be Larry Walthall, Karl Mark Potts, Charles Potts, III, Evan Potts, Taylor Potts, and Brad Potts.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.
