Obituary

Charles John Kieft, who resided in Paris, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in Fort Smith. He was born September 24, 1923 in Baarn, Utrecht, The Netherlands, to the late Jacob Kieft and Wilhelmina Josephiva Linthorst Kieft. He was 89 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Margaret (Carpenter) Kieft; three sisters, and three brothers.

Charles retired from Cloyes Gear Company in Paris, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris.

Rosary service will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 8th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris.

Funeral Mass will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 9th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paris at a later date, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris. Officiating the service will be Father Eugene Luke, O.S.B.

He is survived by two step-sons, James Carpenter and wife Glenda of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Larry Carpenter and wife Alice of Fort Smith; (7) step-grandchildren, Nathan, Logan, Kelsey, Stephanie, Jennifer, Jeffrey, and Jessica; and (11) step great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School or St. Joseph Church Capital Campaign.
