Obituary

Charles Edwin Hill, who resided in Paris, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in Paris. He was born February 25, 1925 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to the late Thomas Middleton Hill and Lillian Beatrice (Small) Hill. He was 89 years old. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Velva Dean Hill; one son, Ralph Edwin Hill; and a brother, Walter Hill.

Charles was a flame cutter for a naval base in California. He was a WWII Navy veteran, a deacon, and member of Paris First Freewill Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29th, at First Freewill Baptist Church in Paris, with the Rev. Tim Hobbs officiating. Burial with "Military Honors" will be at Moore Cemetery, located south of Subiaco, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Paris.

He is survived by two daughters, Diana Downs of Salem, Oregon and Dana Cunningham and husband Mike of Subiaco; four grandchildren, Amanda Young, Loren Cunningham, James Cunningham, and B.J. McCarthey; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Young and Mercy Alyzabeth Cunningham.

Pallbearers will be Michael Cunningham, James Cunningham, Bill Stinnett, Eddie Stinnett, Dale Gilbreath, and Curtis Baumgartner.

Honorary pallbearers are Loren Cunningham, B.J. McCarthey, and Richard Moffet.

Family will visit with friends 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
