Charles Gordon Granger, who resided in Lavaca, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, at his home. He was born October 8, 1936, in Lavaca, to the late Sherman Charles and Ora Ruth (Perry) Granger. He was just shy of 85 years old. He was preceded in death by his wives, Helen (Thomas) Granger and Doris Granger; his parents; two sisters, Fannie Lou Telaar and Jean Anthony.
Charlie was a graduate of Lavaca High School and received his Associate Degree from Fort Smith Junior College. He spent 34 years as a transportation manager at Riverside Manufacturing, 10 years post-retirement working for the Lavaca School District and he served in the Army National Guard. Charlie invested in young men coaching little league baseball in Lavaca, coaching women's softball team and enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a caregiver at heart and a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Central City.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5th at First Southern Baptist Church in Central City, with Pastor Russ Tyler officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery, north of Greenwood, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by a daughter, Tina Biggerstaff and husband, Robert of Lavaca; a son, Perry Granger and companion Katrina of Lavaca; two adopted sons, Kris Larimore and wife Brittney of Lavaca and Joe Larimore of Pocola; two step-daughters, Koni Larimore of Pocola and Kelly Jackson and husband James, of Fort Smith; two sisters, Mary Ann Caldwell of Newark, OH and Sherma Granger of Lavaca; four grandchildren, Madilyn Meador (Patrick) of Pea Ridge, Molly Duncan (Shane) of Lavaca, Charly Hill (James) of Fort Gibson, OK and Megan Bruso (Kyle) of Charleston; nine step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, Esther and Lucy Meador, Oakleigh Henry, Alex Granger and Brex Bruso; seven step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Pschier, Kenny Douglas, Rusty Winchester, Joe Eyerman, Chuck Geske and Don Holland. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Blaylock, Kenny Dooly, Rick Dooly and Kenny Hobbs.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home.
