Charles Lee "Ole Dad" Fowler resided in Barling, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, in his home. He was born April 1, 1943 in Magazine, Arkansas to John Omer Fowler & Jewel Everett Fowler. He was 65 years old.

He was a retired line mechanic for 28 years at Planters Peanuts in Fort Smith and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Barling.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Jewel Fowler.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2009, at the Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Seth Young officiating, with burial at the Infant Cemetery, southeast of Caulksville, under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife, Margie, of the home; three sons, Charlie Fowler & wife Kathy, of Fort Smith, Johnny Fowler & wife Carol, of Barling and Michael "Swifty" Wipf, of Barling; his father, John O. Fowler & wife Nelda, of Barling; four sisters, Glenda Beene & husband Ron, of Barling, Alvetta Wipf & husband Delbert, of Barling, Jewel Dean Avery & husband John, of Little Rock, and Johna Gaddis & husband Steve, of Fort Smith; one brother, Robert McClain of Jenny Lind; six grandchildren, David Lee, Aaron Leslie, Taylor Paige, Hannah, Hayden, and Heather Fowler; one great grandchild, Connor Fowler and many nieces & nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robert McClain, Harold McElyea, John Slankard, Ken Overbey, Jared Fowler, and Dennis Fowler.

Family will visit wth friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
