Cary Glenn Conner, who resided near Charleston, Arkansas, died Friday, January 27, 2023, at Mercy Hospice in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on November 15, 1959, in Fort Worth, Texas, to the late Harold B. Conner and Barbara Genave (Teague) Conner. He was 63 years old.
Cary was a retired supervisor, electrician, and maintenance at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. He was an avid fisherman and loved fishing bass tournaments and crappie fishing. He also enjoyed camping with his wife and family and going to the casinos. Cary had lots of friends and he loved his family very much. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2nd at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Jimmy Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cathy (Sampley) Conner; a daughter, Michelle Pound and husband Sam of Charleston; a son, Michael Conner and Andrea of Fort Smith; three sisters, Teresa Little and husband Sam of Subiaco, Gena Hice of Charleston, and Darlene McCormick and husband Billy of Charleston; two brothers, Dean Conner of Charleston and Tim Conner and wife Brenda of Willisville, Illinois; three grandchildren, Caleb Conner, Brooklyn Conner and Conner Pound; and one great-granddaughter, Lyla Jo.
Pallbearers are Paul Little, Brian Martin, Tommy Furstenberg, Alex Schuch, Gary Brookshire, and Whitney Brown.
Honorary pallbearers are Charley Hice, Donald Riechmann, James Tobey, Jeremy Kengla, Jay Carter, Ricky South, and Wayne Reed.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home.
